Getting Started
How do I start my free trial?
Open ResinStudio and complete the onboarding. When prompted, tap "Start 14-day free trial" to begin your trial. You can also dismiss the prompt and explore the free tier first. No credit card is required until you choose to subscribe.
What's included in the free tier?
The free tier includes:
- Unlimited calculator usage
- Up to 5 molds
- Up to 10 supplies
- Up to 10 projects
- 3 invoices per month
Using the Calculator
What ratios are supported?
ResinStudio supports 1:1, 2:1, 3:1, 4:1, and custom ratios. Select your ratio and the calculator will automatically split your total volume into Part A and Part B.
What mold shapes can I use?
Supported shapes include: round, square, rectangle, oval, dome, and custom freeform shapes. Enter your dimensions and ResinStudio calculates the volume automatically.
What is the overpour buffer?
The overpour buffer adds extra resin (5-30%) to account for waste during mixing and pouring. This ensures you never run short mid-pour.
Mold Library
How do I add a mold?
Tap the + button on the Molds tab. Add a photo (optional), enter dimensions, and select the shape. ResinStudio automatically calculates and saves the volume.
Can I use my saved molds in the calculator?
Yes! Tap any saved mold to pre-fill the calculator with its dimensions and volume.
Project Costing
How does the margin slider work?
The margin slider shows your profit margin in real-time as you adjust your sale price. The color changes from red (low margin) to amber (medium) to teal/green (high margin) based on your target.
What costs are tracked?
ResinStudio tracks material costs (supplies used), labor costs (hours × hourly rate), and overhead percentage (default 10%). All costs are combined to show your total cost per unit.
Invoicing
How do I create an invoice?
Tap the + button on the Invoices tab. Add client details, line items (you can pull from project history), and tap Save. Your invoice is automatically numbered.
How do I export an invoice as PDF?
Open any invoice and tap "Export PDF". Choose where to save or share the PDF.
Subscription
How much does ResinStudio cost?
After your 14-day free trial:
- $6.99/month (billed monthly)
- $44.99/year (save 46%, billed annually)
Can I cancel my subscription?
Yes, anytime. Go to iPhone Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions → ResinStudio → Cancel Subscription. You'll keep Pro access until the end of your billing period.
How do I restore my purchase on a new device?
Open ResinStudio → Settings → Restore Purchases. Your subscription will sync automatically via your Apple ID.
Privacy & Data
Is my data stored in the cloud?
No. All data is stored locally on your device using SQLite. We do not sync data to any cloud service or collect personal information. See our Privacy Policy for details.
What analytics do you collect?
We use PostHog to track anonymous feature usage (e.g., "user created a project") to improve the app. No personal information, photos, or business data is collected.
Troubleshooting
The app crashed or froze
Try force-quitting the app and restarting it. If the issue persists, restart your device. Contact support if the problem continues.
I can't export PDFs
PDF export requires iOS 13+ and may not work reliably in the iOS Simulator. Test on a real device. If issues persist, contact support.
My subscription isn't working
Go to Settings → Restore Purchases. If the issue persists, verify your subscription is active in iPhone Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.
