CandleStudio ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.
Information We Collect
Information You Provide
CandleStudio stores all data locally on your device, including:
- Vessel dimensions and details you add
- Supply inventory information (wax, fragrance oils, wicks, packaging)
- Project details and costing data
- Invoice information (client names, amounts)
- Business settings (labor rate, overhead percentage, cure day defaults)
- Burn test logs
This data is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to our servers or any third party.
Analytics Information
We use PostHog, a privacy-focused analytics platform, to understand how users interact with CandleStudio. We collect anonymous usage data such as:
- Feature usage (e.g., "calculator used", "project created")
- App screens viewed
- Device type and operating system version
- App crashes and errors
We do NOT collect:
- Your personal information (name, email, phone number)
- Your vessel designs or photos
- Your business data (project names, client names, costs, prices)
- Your location
- Unique device identifiers that could identify you personally
Subscription Information
Subscriptions are processed through Apple's App Store. We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status. RevenueCat receives:
- Your Apple ID subscription receipt
- Subscription status (active, expired, cancelled)
- Subscription type (monthly, annual)
We do not have access to your payment information. All payment processing is handled by Apple.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide and maintain the CandleStudio app
- Verify your subscription status
- Understand feature usage to improve the app
- Diagnose and fix technical issues
- Communicate with you about updates or support requests
Data Storage and Security
Local Storage: All your vessels, supplies, projects, and invoices are stored locally on your device using SQLite. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly export it (e.g., sharing an invoice PDF).
No Cloud Sync: CandleStudio does not sync your data to any cloud service. If you delete the app or switch devices, your data will not be automatically transferred.
Analytics Security: PostHog analytics data is anonymized and stored securely. We do not share this data with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.

Your Data Rights
- Access: All your data is stored locally on your device and accessible within the app.
- Deletion: Delete the app to remove all locally stored data. To request deletion of analytics data, contact us at bmattes+candlestudio@gmail.com.
- Export: You can export invoices as PDFs. Other data can be manually reviewed within the app.
- Opt-out: Analytics cannot be disabled in the current version, but all data is anonymous and does not identify you personally.
Children's Privacy
CandleStudio is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this policy. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
